Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide new compds. having action for activating potassium channels, useful for treatment of ischemia symptom and arrhythmia.

CONSTITUTION: The derivs. are the compds. of formula I (where X is O, S, or -NCN; Y is O, S, single bond or the like; R1 and R7 are each H, alkyl, arylalkyl or the like; R2 is H, hydroxy or the like; R2 and R4 are each H, alkyl, arylalkyl or the like; R5 is H, alkyl or the like; R6 is H, halo or the like; R8 is H, alkyl or the like; R9 is aryl or the like), for example, (3S-trans)-3-(6- cyano-3,4-dihydro-3-hydroxy-2,2-dimethyl-2H-1-benzopyrane-4-yl)-N'-(2,3-dihydro-1 H-indene-5-yl)urea. The compds. of formula I (when X is O) are obtained by reacting the compds. of formula II (L is leavable group or activated group) with an amine of formula III in a solvent (e.g. DMF). The compds. of formula I possess little or no anti-hypertensive activity.
