PURPOSE: To easily and accurately assmble center-rack type foot for an elevating type marine platform by a method in which a center plate of steel strip is inserted into and welded to the inside of the tubular foot body and racks are axially welded and fixed to the positions corresponding to its extended line.
CONSTITUTION: Center plate support metals 10 are temporarily attached to the inside of a foot body 4, the foot body 4 is made into an oblong form in its cross section by pushing it along the diametral direction from above by means of a press 12, and then a center plate of steel strip having the same width as its inside diameter is inserted into the foot body 4. And, the center plate 5 is temporarily welded throughout the whole length of the axial direction, the support metals 10 are removed, and then the weld 6 is finished. Then, a pair of racks 7 are welded 8 to the periphery of the foot body 4 to complete the assembly of the foot.
