Title:
ATTITUDE CONTROLLER AND ARTIFICIAL SATELLITE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3923890
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an attitude controller that requires little storing space of an artificial satellite, miniaturizes and lightens the artificial satellite as much as possible, and can control the attitude of the artificial satellite during its orbital travel, and the artificial satellite using the attitude controller.
SOLUTION: The artificial satellite 2 is formed integrally with the fairing 6, and the fairing 6 is provided with a lack part. The solar cell paddle 34 having a hinged constitution of two solar cell panels 35 and 36 is mounted to the fairing 6 so as to block the lack part during storing of it. The solar cell paddle 34 is connected to an electric motor via a wire. The electric motor is operated when the artificial satellite 2 is launched into the orbital, thereby developing the solar cell paddle 34. During the orbital travel of the artificial satellite 2, for facing a light receiving surface of the solar cell paddle 34 to the sun or controlling attitude of the artificial satellite 2, the electric motor is driven to vary the development angle of the solar cell paddle 34.
