Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To contribute to the improvement of playability by allowing the fetch of the proper offset and realizing the stable automatic adjustment of a digital servo in a disk device for reading out data from the disk by using an optical pickup.
SOLUTION: In the disk device provided with the optical pickup having a lens for image-forming the light from a light emitting element on the signal surface of the disk and a light receiving element for detecting the light reflected from this signal surface, a digital servo circuit for detecting various kinds of offsets from an output of the light receiving element in the ON state of the light emitting element to carry out the process for canceling these offsets, and a controller for controlling the optical pickup and the digital servo circuit, the lens of the optical pickup is arranged so as to approach (S5) to the disk up to the position where a focal point of the light from the light emitting element is dislocated from the signal surface of the disk and the surface of the disk, when the detection of the offset is carried out (S7).
