To provide the AFC(automatic frequency control) circuit which is used in the reception equipment of a portable telephone set or the like and has a low power consumption, a high stability, and the low cost.
The temperature is detected by a temperature detection part 11, and this temperature detection signal is digitized by an A/D converter 12. Temperature compensation information preliminarily stored for this temperature is outputted from a storage part 13 and is inputted to a CPU 15. Meanwhile, a reception frequency IF is measured by a frequency counter 14, and the output is inputted to the CPU 15. The CPU 15 calculates a detuning frequency Δf from the output of the frequency counter 14 and adds it to temperature compensation information inputted from the storage part 13, and the addition result is converted into an analog value by a D/A converter 16, and a voltage controlled quartz oscillator (VCXO) 17 is controlled by the output.
