PURPOSE: To enable both of reception and return and to more effectively utilize boxes without occupying the respective boxes by a prescribed user by providing a means for switching a deposit mode and a collection mode.

CONSTITUTION: When a user deposits the laundry, the deposit button of an operation part 9 is pushed, and the deposit mode is selected. A telephone number, number of pieces of laundry and laundry number or the like inputted by the user are stored in specified areas on a memory while being made correspondent one and another. When a fee is paid from a paper money inserting port 6 and/or a coin inserting port 7, the user puts the laundry into an empty box 15 to be used, and the deposit operation is finished. When the user collected the treated laundry, a collection button is pushed, and the collection mode is selected. When the telephone number inputted in the case of deposit is inputted by the user and there is no additional fee, the laundry is collected by canceling the lock of the box 15 where the laundry corresponding to the inputted telephone number is put in.
