Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for automatically thread and take up an optical waveguide fiber on a spool at the time of drawing the optical waveguide fiber.
SOLUTION: This device is used for threading the fiber which is continuously supplied by a supplying device and is taken up on the spool. A recovering device 80 exists adjacently to the supplying device and recovers the fiber by withdrawing the fiber from the supplying device for applying tension on the fiber 14 between the supplying device and the recovering device. A positioning device 90 exists between the supplying device and the recovering device and has a hooking part for hooking the continuously recovered fiber. The device moves from the position adjacent to the supplying position of the fiber to the position adjacent to the spool in order to move the fiber to at least one threading position by biting the fiber. The threading device automatically threads the fiber in at least one threading position to the spool.
