Title:
METHOD OF AND EQUIPMENT FOR CONTINUOUSLY CASTING MOLTEN METAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3779809
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately measure a molten metal surface level by detecting on-stage and off-stage of the electromagnetic coil pulse and by measuring the molten metal surface level only at off-stage of the pulse.
SOLUTION: A molten metal 3 is cast from a nozzle 2 for casing in a mold 1 for continuous casting. A current sensor 13 is installed in a cable 12 between a power source 11 and an electromagnetic coil 4, and the current signal is detected. As to the current is signal detected, the absolute value detection is carried out with an absolute value detection circuit 15. An arithmetic unit 16 creates a pulse trigger signal 17 so that the sampling may be carried out at off-stage of a pulse magnetic field and transmit the signal to a molten metal level sensor signal processing mechanism 18. The signal processing mechanism 18 samples or holds the signal of a vortex style molten metal surface level sensor head part 5 in proportion to the pulse trigger signal 17. The signal including the noise which the electromagnetic coil 4 produces is removed, and the accuracy of the molten metal surface level control is improved.
