Abstract:
To detect reduction of an awakening degree of a driver without placing a burden on the driver.
Information on driving operation in a state where the awakening degree is high, and vehicle behavior information at that time are stored as unit space of an MT system. The current information on driving operation and vehicle behavior information are taken in from various types of sensors so as to calculate Mahalanobis distance. When the Mahalanobis distance is large, it is determined that the awakening degree is reduced by deviation from a normal driving state. When reduction in the awakening degree is large, a alarm for doze at the wheel is output.
