To obtain a new compound useful as an acyl CoA: cholesterol O- acyltransferase inhibitor.
This new compound is shown by formula I [R1 to R3 are each H, a halogen, 1-8C alkyl, haloalkyl, alkoxy, etc.; A is of formula II (R4 is 1-8C alyl, 3-8C cycloalkyl, etc.; R5 and R6 are each H, a halogen, 1-8C alkyl, etc.; X is O, S or N(R7); R7 is H, a 1-8C alkyl, etc.), etc.], e.g. N-[4-(2- chloropohenyl)-2-phenylthiazol-5-yl]-N'-(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)urea. The compound of formula I is obtained by reaction between an isocyanate compound of the formula A-NCO and a compound of formula III at room temperature to 150°C. This new compound is useful as a preventive/therapeutic agent for hypercholesterolemia, atherosclerosis, and ischemic cardiopathy such as myocardial infarction and cerebral hematopathy such as cerebral infarction and apoplexy, due to the above disorders.
