Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a backflow inhibitor for a water-base ballpoint ink with a viscosity of 100-1500cP in an ink container tube by mixing an alkyl ester of castor oil fatty acid with dibenzylidenesorbitol or tribenzylidenesorbitol.
CONSTITUTION: A mixture of 80-99.5wt.% alkyl ester of castor oil fatty acid and 0.5-20wt.% dibenzylidenesorbitol or tribenzylidenesorbitol is dissolved by heating, then cooled and kneaded in, e.g. a ball mill to give the objective backflow inhibitor as a gel.
