Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a background noise eliminating device that automatically detects a background noise component from an impulse response waveform and eliminates the component.
SOLUTION: A CPU 105 of an effecter 20 calculates the envelope of an impulse response waveform from the sample data of impulse response waveform data obtained via a microphone 10 and an analog/digital converter circuit 104. Then the CPU 105 detects a period when the slope of the envelope is close to '0' consecutively for a prescribed period or over. The CPU 105 then calculates the mean value of the sample data for the detected period to correct a DC offset, acquires a maximum value among the absolute values of the sample data for the detected period and decides the maximum value as the background component. Then the CPU 105 eliminates the background noise component from the sample data configuring the impulse response waveform data.
