PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bactericidal composition exhibiting bactericidal effects on various microorganism existing in living environment such as a bathroom.SOLUTION: There is provided the bactericidal composition containing: aromatic alcohol such as benzyl alcohol (a component), glycol ether ((b1 component) represented by RO-(CH-O)-H, where R represents an aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 3 to 8 carbon atoms or the like and n1 represents an integer of 1 to 8; glycol ether (b2 component) represented by RO-(CH-CH(CH)-O)-H, where R represents an aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms and n2 represents an integer of 1 to 8; water (c component); and a surfactant (d component). In the bactericidal composition, the total content of the (a) component and the (b) component which is selected from the (b1) and (b2) components is 1.6 mass% or more, the mass ratio of the total content of the (a) component and the (b) component and the content of the (d) component, (d)/[(a)+(b)] is 0.8 or less, and the total content of the (a) component, the (b) component and the (c) component is 80 mass% or more.
