Title:
BALL TYPE SHIELD EXCAVATOR AND SHIELD EXCAVATING METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2824228
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change an excavating direction easily by disposing a plurality of cutter bits in such a way that the cutter faces of the cutter bits are positioned on the semispherical surface with a diameter almost equal to an excavating diameter.
SOLUTION: A cutter frame 20 of an excavator 2 of a ball type shield excavator 1 is formed into semispherical structure extended along the inside of the semispherical surface S with a diameter almost equal to an excavating diameter. A plurality of cutter bits 30 are fixed to the cutter frame 20 so that the cutter faces 30a thereof are positioned on the semispherical surface S with the diameter almost equal to the excavating diameter. At the time of construction, the excavator 2 is actuated to excavate an underground passage while lining the inner surface of the excavated underground passage with segments 64 by an erector 6. At the time of changing an excavating direction, a tail plate 4a of a rear drum part 4 is removed from a body frame 10 to release the connection of the rear drum part 4, and an excavator body is rotated around the center A of the semispherical surface S to change the direction into a desired direction.
