A bar gripping device is provided with long and narrow first supporting bodies 21 and 22 with a plurality of first gripping sections 20 arranged at the given intervals along the longitudinal direction and a long and narrow second supporting body 24 with a plurality of second gripping sections 23 arranged at the given intervals along the longitudinal direction, and the first supporting bodies 21 and 22 and the second supporting body 24 are combined together relatively to be slidable so that respective first gripping sections 20 and the second gripping sections 23 are disposed alternately, and either one of the first supporting bodies 21 and 22 or the second supporting body 24 is slid in the longitudinal direction to grip bars between the gripping faces of the first gripping sections 20 and the second gripping sections 23.
