Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a novel compound useful as an organic semiconductor usable in an electronic device field and an electric material field.

CONSTITUTION: Basic Red 2.7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinodimethane salt shown by formula I. The compound is obtained by reacting Basic Red 2 shown by formula II with 7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinodimethane lithium salt to give Basic Red 2.7,7,8,8- tetracyanoquinodimethane salt shown by formula III and then reacting this compound with 7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinodimethane. Since the compound shown by formula I has electrical conductivity, is usable as electrically conductive dye, has electrical conductivity before melting but loses electrical conductivity after melting, the compound is usable as a thermal fuse and further a thermotape by change of color after melting.
