Title:
BATTERY DISCHARGE CIRCUIT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2768907
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent over discharge and prolong the life of a battery by displaying the discharge state at the time when a used battery which is discharged to a prescribed voltage is charged again.
CONSTITUTION: At the time when a battery 13 is discharged, the voltage of a node A is elevated and a transistor TrQ1 is turned on by trigger operation of a capacitor C1 when a discharge switch 14 is turned on. Successively, electric discharge is caused through a discharge resistor RDIS and a LEDD3 is turned on. In a node B, TrQ21 and LEDD3 are turned on by electric current flowing to a Zener diode D1 side and electric discharge is continuously carried out through the resistor RDIS. In this case, when the voltage of the node B is lowered to the standard voltage of the diode D1 or lower, a diode D1 is turned off and TrQ2 is also turned off. Consequently, electric discharge is shut off and the LEDD3 is also turned off. Charging is generally carried out when the switch 14 is turned off and in the case charging is carried out while the switch 14 is kept in the on state, electric discharge is continued through the resistor RDIS and in spite of that, over discharge can be prevented by properly setting the standard voltage of the diode D1.
