Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery pack which is superior in volume efficiency and safety.
SOLUTION: This battery pack 1 comprises eight square nonaqueous electrolyte secondary batteries 2 inside a battery pack frame. Each square nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery 2 comprises a positive electrode using lithium manganese composite oxide as the active material and a negative electrode using graphite as the active material, which are housed in a battery can in a layered state. The arrangement direction of the secondary batteries 2 is matched to the layered direction of the positive electrode and negative electrode, and the total space among the secondary batteries 2 is 2% or more of the total arrangement directional thickness of the secondary batteries 2. Even if the secondary batteries 2 swell, the battery pack frame will not rupture.
