Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator for a battery capable of further reducing the occurrence of short circuit between electrodes when disposing an electrode to constitute a group, and suppressing the occurrence of a micro short circuit in an extended period of use. SOLUTION: In this separator for a battery comprising a non-woven fabric, the thickness of a mixture layer in which short fibers having a length of shorter than 25 mm and long fibers having a length of 25 mm or longer are intertwined, is set to one-third as much as the total thickness or more. For the short fiber, extremely thin short fibers having the diameter of 8 μm or shorter and fusion shorts fiber are contained. For the long fiber, high strength long fibers having the tensile strength of 4.5 cN/dtex or higher and fusion long fiber are used.
