Title:
BELT-SHAPED IMAGE BEARING MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS58214167
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To enable exact position control without deviation, and to give no damage during drive, by forming a protuberance for a rim guide in parallel to the side line of the reverse face of an image-bearing belt.

CONSTITUTION: An insulating base 1 is made of polyester resin film, and an electrically conductive layer 2 made of aluminum or the like is formed on the base 1. An adhesive layer 3 made of, e.g. a copolymer of vinyl chloride/vinyl acetate/maleic anhydride, is formed on the layer 2, and a photoconductive sensitive layer 4 is laminated on the layer 3. It is preferable that the layer 4 is made of Se, ZnO, α-Si, or the like, or an org. photoconductor. The rim guide protuberance 5 is formed in parallel to the side end of the reverse face of the base 1, preferably, within 50mm from the end. Its shape may be of continuous band type, discontinuous cylinder type, square column type, or conical column type, and its width is made equal to that of a groove formed on a drive roll, and its material is preferably a flexible one, such as rubber or synthetic resin.
