The biaxial crusher includes: a pair of rotary shafts 2L, 2R with a blade 12; a driving motor 4 which rotates the blade 12 in crushing direction by rotating the rotary shafts 2L, 2R forward, and rotates the blade 12 in the direction opposite to the crushing direction for reverse rotation; and a power supply device 6 which supplies electric power to the driving motor 4. The power supply device 6 is provided with a charge/discharge part 14 that charges regeneration current when the rotary shafts 2L, 2R are rotated backward and that discharges when the rotary shafts 2L, 2R are rotated forward. In the method of controlling the biaxial crusher 1, the regeneration current is charged when the rotation direction of the rotary shafts 2L, 2R if changed from forward to reverse, and the charged power is used for rotating the driving motor 4 forward again.
