The shower-type coating device for coating on a surface of a base by discharging a coating material like a shower includes: a shower head 3 for discharging the coating material from a plurality of shower holes 2 provided in a shower plate 1; a coating material supply container part 5 for supplying the coating material connected to a coating material supply port 4 of the shower head 3 and supplying the coating material to the shower head 3; a coating material supply pipe 7 connected to the coating material supply port 6 of the coating material supply container part 5; a coating material supply pump 8 for supplying the coating material to the coating material supply container part 5 through the coating material supply pipe 7; and an air/coating discharge pipe 9 branched and connected to the coating material supply pipe 7 and discharging the air and the coating material in the coating material supply pipe 7 and the coating material supply container part 5.
