Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prepare a soluble inclusion compound of a bile acid and β-cyclodextrin, free from deposition of the crystal of bile acid regardless of pH, applicable to injection and useful as a cholagogue.
CONSTITUTION: An inclusion compound of a bile acid and β-cyclodextrin. The bile acid is, e.g., cholic acid, dehydrocholic acid, deoxycholic acid, chenodeoxycholic acid, ursodeoxycholic acid, etc. The inclusion compound is prepared by dissolving β-cyclodextrin and a bile acid in water and concentrating the solution, or adding 2W5 times volume of water to β-cyclodextrin, mixing the resultant slurry with a bile acid and concentraing the solution.
USE: A raw material for syrup or a gallstone-dissolving agent.
