When configuring a blind adaptive equalizer 1 using MMCMA (multilevel modified constant modulus algorithm), the blind adaptive equalizer includes a FIR filter section 2 configuring the critical path with a pipeline system, an algorithm operation section 3 employing the MMCMA in the configuration of the critical path with the pipeline system, and a correction coefficient operation section 4 for operating a correction coefficient for use in updating the coefficient of the FIR filter 2 so as to obtain a convergence characteristic of the MMCMA approximating the MMCMA of non-pipeline system.
