Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a blood compatible and shear sensitive formulation consisting of a high density polyester and hollow fine spheres and useful for promoting the separation of a blood serum or plasma from the cellular proton of blood.
SOLUTION: This blood compatible and shear sensitive formulation contains 85-97 wt.% high density polyester (e.g.; an adipate polyester) and 0.2-15 wt.% hollow fine spheres having 30-160 μ size, and further a silica, titanium dioxde, a cross-linking agent or a stabilizing agent. Preferably, this formulation for a serum/plasm separator is a viscoelastic material having 1.02-1.06 density at 25°C, 0.05 sec-1 shearing rate, 0.6×103-3.2×103 pascal sec viscosity, 0.005 distortion, and 5.3×103-2.2×103 pascal sec storage modulus of elasticity at 10 radian/ sec. In the range of 0.001-0.1 distortion interval, it is set that the storage modulus of elasticity is larger than a loss elasticity modulus or the loss elasticity modulus dose not exceed the storage modulus of elasticity.
