Abstract:

To provide a bobbin for annealing treatment of plastic optical fiber (POF) and a method of annealing the POF by which the POF can be sufficiently annealed by preventing damage of the POF while keeping the POF wound on a bobbin.

The bobbin for the annealing treatment of the plastic optical fiber is characterized in that the bobbin is provided with: a cylindrical core part; a pair of flanges furnished on the both sides of the core part; and a buffer material composed of a heat-resistant material having a bending elasticity of 0.3 to 20 MPa on the peripheral face of the core part. The bobbin for annealing treatment of the plastic optical fiber is characterized in that the bobbin is provided with: the cylindrical core part; a pair of flanges furnished on the both sides of the core part; and a spacer on the peripheral face of the core part, with which spacer the plastic optical fiber is freely removed while being wound.
