Abstract:
PURPOSE:To automatically temperature-compensate a gas damper stay installed between an automobile body and an opening/closing body by urging a link mechanism for connecting the automobile body and the opening/closing body for hood, etc., in the opening/closing direction and varying the turning force according to the variation of the environmental temperature. CONSTITUTION:The back door 10 as opening/closing body is axially supported through a hinge 14 onto the roof part 12 of a car body. The roof part 12 and the back door 10 are connected through a gas damper stay 16. In this constitution, the roof part 12 and the back door 10 are connected through a link mechanism consisting of the first arm 26 in rectilinear flat plate form and the second arm 28 in bent flat plate form. One edge of a pulling coil spring 40 as energizing means is engaged with one edge part of the second arm 28 the other edge of which is connected with the first arm 26. Further, a temperature compensating stay 42 is connected with the other edge of the pulling coil spring 40.
