Abstract:
To provide a book body posture conversion device that converts a posture of a book body so that the book body can be transported in a vertical posture with the back facing downward and in a horizontal posture with the back at the front.SOLUTION: The device includes a tilting plate 6 and a tilting plate drive unit 7. One end 6a of the tilting plate 6 is attached to a pair of horizontal guide rails 1, 2, and the other end 6b of the tilting plate 6 is attached to a pair of vertical guide rails 3, 4, so that the tilting plate 6 can move between horizontal and vertical positions guided by the guide rails. The tilting plate drive unit 7 moves the tilting plate. The tilting plate is provided with a pressure plate 14 that can grip a book body B between it and the tilting plate. The book body is carried-in in a vertical posture between the tilting plate in the vertical position and the pressure plate in a grasping release position. The book body is carried-out in a horizontal posture from a space between the tilting plate in the horizontal position and the pressure plate in the grasping release position. When an unbound book body is carried-in, the pressure plate takes a grasping position and grasps the book body in cooperation with the tilting plate while the tilting plate moves from the vertical position to the horizontal position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
