Abstract:
PURPOSE: To automate an exchanging operation of a mandrel-holding position and shorten the required time for the exchanging operation by placing a secondary mandrel-holder at the position opposite against a mandrel-holder in terms of the braiding position.
CONSTITUTION: A yarn Y drown out from a bobbin placed on a bobbin-carrier C is braided at a braiding position P on a mandrel (m) held by a mandrel holder S in a braider to make a braid. For exchanging the mandrel-holding position during this braiding process, a secondary mandrel-holder H placed at the opposite position against the holder S in terms of the braiding position P is moved forward to hold an end of the mandrel (m) and the hold of the holder S is released. Then, the holder H is actuated to change the position of the mandrel (m) by a specified angle, places the mandrel in front of a chuck of the holder S to hold the other end of the mandrel (m) by the holder S. After that, the holder H releases its hold and returns to a waiting position to complete the automatic exchanging of the mandrel-holding position.
