PURPOSE: To form a three-dimensional braid with excellent productivity by nipping one end of a three-dimensional mandrel, starting the braiding operation, then rotating it by a prescribed angle around one shaft of the mandrel and simultaneously shifting the braiding point.
CONSTITUTION: This braiding method is carried out by positioning one shaft of a mandrel (m) having a three-dimensionally branched structure in a perpendicular state to the braiding plane (T) in a braider, subsequently feeding a yarn (y), shifting the braiding point (P) onto the horizontal branched shaft, starting the braiding operation, then rotating the mandrel (m) by a prescribed angle, positioning the other branched shaft in a perpendicular state to the braiding plane (T), subsequently shifting the braiding point (P) and repeating the above- mentioned braiding operations in order. Thus, the three-dimensional braid is produced.
