Abstract:
PURPOSE:To insure engine braking by making transmission of the running force of a spur gear to an input shaft by means of a driving disc wedged into the shaft between the gear and a driven disc which are fitted loose on the shaft. CONSTITUTION:When the revolutions of the output shaft 3 side receiving external force have exceeded those of an input shaft 2, the force works to rotate a driven disc 5 through the medium of a gear 5C. Thereby, the projection 5a of the disc 5 transfers forward of the projection 6a of a driving disc 6 and when the contact of the both projections 5a and 6a is cancelled separates from the projection 6a. A wedge piece 10 is pushed by the projection 5b of a roller 8 and inserted between the roller 8 and the inner-circumferential face of a recess 4a. Frictional resistance then occurs between the wedge piece 10 and gear 4 and the running force of the disc 5 is transmitted to the shaft 2 via the other transmission mechanisms than the gear 4 and a unidirectional clutch 15 so that engine braking is performed.
