Title:
BRANCH STRUCTURE OF OPTICAL FIBER CABLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3798055
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to give higher strength to the branch part of the optical fiber cable by increasing the connection strength between a cable sheath and a branch sleeve.
SOLUTION: This branch structure has the branch part of a coated optical fiber 12a embedded by fitting a branch sleeve 20 to the end part of a cable sheath 14 while interposing the branch part of the coated optical fiber 12a branched from the optical fiber cable 10 in an inside space 21 and filling the space 21 with epoxy resin 22. Here, a male screw part 14a is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the end part of the cable sheath 14 and the male screw part 14a is threadably engaged with the female screw part 20a to fit the branch sleeve 20 to the optical fiber cable 10.
