Abstract:
To provide a briquette as the raw material for steel making in which grinding swarf can effectively be reutilized.
The briquette comprises powdery pure iron and oil, and is obtained by solidifying powder D obtained by finely shearing a cotton-shaped aggregates B including the grinding swarf of iron based metal with a solidification auxiliary agent E, and drying the same. Alternatively, the briquette is obtained by impregnating a brittle compact C obtained by subjecting the cotton-shaped aggregates B to compression molding with an inorganic solidification auxiliary agent D, and solidifying the same.
