To prevent the pressing load of a brush from varying by locking the brush with a simple means which facilitates fixing and removal of a spring stopper.
A brush holder 7 in a motor for holding a brush 4 supplying a current to a commutator 3 slidably is provided in a housing 6 which closes the opening of a motor casing 1. A coil spring 13 for urging the brush 4 toward the commutator 3 is provided on the outside of the brush 4 in the brush holder 7 and the outer end of the coil spring 13 is abutted against a spring stopper 14 which can be stopped temporarily at the outer end part of the brush holder 7 by a temporary stopping means. When the housing 6 is fixed to the motor casing 1, outer end of the spring stopper 14 abuts against the inner surface of the motor casing 1 and the spring stopper 14 is fixed to the brush holder 7 at the regular fixing position.
