Abstract:
The combustion assembly has an additional opening (17) near the outlet openings (22,23,23a-23c) of the tubes (11,19), to prevent the entry of hot gases and/or hot liquid fuel entering the outlet openings of the tubes when they are not in use in the lance head (12). Compressed air flows through the additional opening (17) into the fuel injection zone. Compressed air is fed from the plenum round the burner to the additional opening. The gas turbine assembly has a lance head for the selective feed of an injected liquid and/or gas fuel.
