Abstract:

To provide a burner for glass fine particle deposition capable of suppressing deposition of glass fine particles on the burner, and suppressing crack of a glass fine particle deposited body and the burner breakage, and to provide a method for producing a glass fine particle deposited body.

A burner 1 for deposition to be used has: a first outflow part group 3 including the center part of the burner 1; a reducing gas outflow part 5 which is positioned on the outside of the first outflow part group 3, and whose outflow port 13 is positioned furthermore ahead in the gas outflow direction than the outflow port 11-4 of an outflow part 3-4 on the outermost layer of the first outflow part group 3; and a second outflow part group 7 which is positioned on the outside of the reducing gas outflow part 5, and whose outflow port is positioned furthermore ahead in the gas outflow direction than the outflow port of the first outflow part group 3 and the outflow port 13 of the reducing gas outflow part 5. While sending reducing gas reacting with oxygen by acting in the reduction direction with respect to quartz glass into the reducing gas outflow part 5, raw material gas, combustible gas, combustion supporting gas and seal gas are blown out from the first outflow part group 3, to thereby deposit glass fine particles on a target.
