To provide a cable laying designing support system for optimally designing cable laying in consideration of the layout of intermediate joints and the layout of manholes necessary for the installation of equipment for cable laying, and for rationally arranging necessary resources on a cable route.
A cable laying designing means is provided with: a cable size selection means 108 for selecting a cable size according to the use of a cable under selected electric conditions; an optimal manhole designing means 109 for examining a ground system, the longest winding amount of one drum and side pressure/tension to be imposed on a cable based on cable data and input data, and for designing the layout of intermediate joints, equipment for laying and manholes, and for outputting a manhole layout, cable laying equipment layout and intermediate joint layout or the like; and a cable laying material amount totaling means 110 for totaling the physical quantity based on the designed or calculated data, and for outputting it in terms of the cable physical quantity, cable drum schedule and duct physical quantity or the like designated by a designer.
