PURPOSE: To improve precision and to reduce size, in a transmitter to convert forced pull operation of an operation member into an electric signal.

CONSTITUTION: The inner cable 20 of a forced pull control cable 13 forcibly pulled by an operation rod comprises a core, a lateral line, and resin coat. The inner cable 20 is wound around the outer periphery of a pulley 3 rotatably arranged in cases 1 and 2, and the end part thereof is locked. The detecting shaft 19 of a potentiometer P is fixed to the central part of the pulley 3. Thus, since the pulley 3 is rotated approximately in a 270° arc, the detecting angle range of the potentiometer P is sufficiently utilized, and high resolution detection is practicable. Further, since linear movement of the pulley 3 is converted into rotational movement of a detecting shaft by the pulley 3, the size of a case is sharply reduced compared with a conventional transmitter using a lever.
