Title:
CAPILLARY ARRAY ELECTROPHORESIS DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3722131
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capillary array electrophoresis device used for carrying out on-column fluorometry by irradiating a plurality of capillaries with a laser beam substantially at the same time.
SOLUTION: The plurality of capillaries 1 are arrayed on a flat surface of glass 5, and the laser beam 2 is radiated along the array axis from the lateral direction of the array. The capillary has a convex lens action depending on a relationship among the outside diameter and the inside diameter of the capillary, the refraction index of a medium 11 outside the capillary, the refraction index of a material 1 of the capillary, and the refraction index of a medium 10 in the capillary. The laser beam is repeatedly focused, and advances inside the capillary array without deviating from the array axis of the capillaries. Thereby, sufficient laser beam power reaches the inside of each capillary, and simultaneous fluorometry becomes possible, and high sensitivity, high speed and high throughput can be realized.
