PURPOSE: To make it possible to apply a thin cylindrical body as the shaft body, and to implant long brush hairs and short auxiliary brush hairs to a pattern member which consists of a bottom plate and the right side and the left side plates, and installing the pattern member winding spirally to the shaft body.

CONSTITUTION: A pattern member 3 consists of a thin metal plate or a resin material, being formed of a bottom plate 3A and the right side and the left side plates 3B and 3C, in a channel form. To this pattern member 3, long brush hairs 4 and short auxiliary brush hairs 5 are implanted. A brush 9 for car washing is formed by winding the pattern member 3 to a shaft body 1 in a spiral under the condition that the bottom plate 3A is attached to the outer surface of the shaft body 1, and by fixing the both ends to the shaft body 1. The pattern member 3 can be fixed by clamping its both ends with clips penetrated to holes 2 from the inner side. The spiral winding can be made by moving in the axial direction the feeding part of the pattern member 3 whose one end is fixed, while rotating the shaft body 1 around the axis. In this case, by converting the moving speed of the feeding part, the pitch of the spiral can be changed in a long pitch P1 and in a short pitch P2 as desired.
