To provide a carbonizing equipment of simple structure enabling various feedstocks to be used, their combustion conditions to be regulated according to their kinds, and soft charcoal in the state of cinders with high deodorizing performance or adsorptive performance to be mass-produced easily in a short time.

This carbonizing equipment comprises a carbonizing oven 1 composed of an oven body 3 formed in a bottomedly cylindrical fashion with its top opening serving as the charge/discharge port 2 and a lid 4 pivoted openably on the top of the oven body 3; wherein the oven body 3 is mounted on a platform 5 so as to be horizontally turnable way, the central axis of the oven body 3 is equipped vertically with an exhaust cylinder 6 provided with an exhaust port 7 on the lower part thereof and the bottom of the oven body 3 is provided with an air inlet and an ignition port 13. This carbonizing equipment works as follows: the bottom of the accumulated layer of a plant feedstock charged via the port 2 into the oven body 3 is ignited at the ignition port and the feedstock is incompletely combusted into charcoal, which, in turn, is removed via the port 2.
