To effectively separate a catalyst withdrawn from a reactor from air, to automatically discharge it to a housing body and to enable continuous operation.
This separator 10 stores a catalyst sucked from a reactor by a vacuum sucking device. And it is provided with a tank body 11 for storing the catalyst, a cover member 13 provided on the tank body 11 so that it can be freely opened and closed, a weight 18 for automatically opening and closing the cover member 13, and an opening valve 33 for adjusting pressure in the tank body 11 to open the cover member 13. Consequently, when the catalyst from the reactor accumulates by the prescribed quantity, it is automatically discharged by cooperation of the weight and the opening valve to enable continuous operation and to enable improving efficiency of catalyst withdrawal work.
