To control a proportion of weight fractions in an olefin resin product having a broad or bimodal molecular-weight distribution using a make-up catalyst having at least one metallic component of bimetallic catalyst components together with a bimetallic catalyst.
The bimetallic catalyst produces a broad or bimodal molecular weight distribution polyolefin resin whose composition depends on a ratio of the concentration of two catalyst components producing a HMW/LMW component. The make-up catalyst including a single metal component is added in an amount necessary to make-up the deficiencies in an amount of the HMW/LMW component. The type of the make-up catalyst added depends on whether increase of the HMW or LMW component produced by the bimetallic catalyst is sought or not.
