Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cationic electrodeposition coating compsn. which does not coating any highly toxic heavy metal (e.g. lead) and provides a coating film excellent in rust prevention, curability, solvent resistance, mechanical properties. etc.
SOLUTION: This compsn. contains a resin (base resin A) obtd. by cationizing amino groups of an active-methylene-contg. amine-modified epoxy resin obtd. by reacting an amine compd. with the epoxy groups of an epoxy resin having active methylkene groups in the side chains, a resin (base resin B) obtd. by cationizing an amine-modified epoxy resin having no active methylene group, and a blocked polyisocyanate (curative).
