To prevent retransmission from occurring many times by eliminating a communication error when there is no ACK response generated if one's own machine is unable to receive CEC messages since all buffers for receiving CEC messages are in use because processing by one's own machine is too late for a communication interval when continuously receiving CEC messages.
When a one's own machine communication state monitoring block 102 detects a one's own machine state, unable to receive CEC messages, in which all buffers 110 for receiving CEC messages are in use, a CEC control block 101 transmits a CEC message transmission stop request message via a message generation block 103, a message transmission block 105, and a CEC signal input/output block 107 so as to temporarily stop CEC message transmission from other equipment.
