Title:
CENTERLESS GRINDING WHEEL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01127271
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent a grinding wheel from flawing a workpiece fed into its grinding position, even when the workpiece collides against a side surface of the grinding wheel, by charging it with a protecting film in the side surface in at least a side to which the workpiece is fed coming in. CONSTITUTION:A workpiece 3 is fed between a grinding wheel 1 and a control grinding wheel 2 parallelly with rotary shafts of these wheels 1, 2, and the workpiece 3 is ground in a centerless state. Here the grinding wheel 1 is charged in its side surface 1b, in a feed side of the workpiece 3, with a resin made film 15. Consequently, even when the workpiece 3, during its feed, collides against the grinding wheel 1, a shock by the collision is relaxed by this film 15, and the workpiece 3 is fed into its grinding position being prevented from flawing by the grinding wheel 1. Further this film 15 serves as a shielding member in the time of grinding, and allowing air to flow into the grinding wheel 1 from its side surface 1b, the film 15 prevents the air from blowing from a grinding surface of the wheel 1. Accordingly, the workpiece 3 can be stably set up on a blade 14, further enabling grinding fluid to be properly supplied to the grinding position.
