PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel material that can suitably be used as material for scintillator, a scintillator formed from the material for scintillator and a radiation detection device including the scintillator, and method for manufacturing a scintillator.SOLUTION: A ceramic composition for scintillator comprising a lanthanoid element and a nitride ceramics, a scintillator which is a sintered body of the ceramics composition for scintillator, and a radiation detection device including the scintillator and a photodetector for detecting light emitted from the scintillator, as well as a method for manufacturing a scintillator using the ceramic composition for scintillator are provided.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
