The chair 1 for aiding sitting on heels includes: a seating plate 2 on which person's buttocks can be placed; a pair of leg members 3 for supporting this seating plate 2; and a hinge mechanism 4 connecting an intermediate part in the lateral direction of the seating plate 2 with the end parts on the non-grounding side of the leg members 3. The chair 1 is configured to turn the leg members 3 by the hinge mechanism 4 between two positions, namely, a standing position in which the leg members stand in a manner extendingly inclined outward in the lateral direction as the leg members advance downwardly from the intermediate part in the lateral direction of the seating plate 2, and a folding position in which the leg members are folded in a manner superposing on the lower face of the seating plate 2. The chair 1 is designed to have holding members 5, 5' provided in a foldable manner relative to the leg members 3 and holding the leg members 3 in the standing position.
