The basic shape of a handcrafted article 10 is molded through the use of clay 12 to be changed from a soft state to a hard state by natural drying, while the clay 12 is in the soft state. When the clay 12 is in the soft state, wool 11 to be arranged on the front surface of the clay 12 are evenly put in with an exclusive needle to push the partial wool 11 into the clay 12 to thereby form a plurality of implantation portions 11a. The clay 12 is naturally dried to be hardened in a state where the implantation portions 11a of the wool 11 have been pushed into the clay 12, so that the wool 11 are fixed to the clay 12 at the implantation portions 11a. Thus, the handcrafted article 10 where the surface is decorated with the wool 11 is easily manufactured.
