To secure the strength of a backrest and to improve the workability in the assembly of the backrest having pipe parts which are formed in the whole circumference of a back sheet and into which a back frame is inserted.
The back frame 17 is composed of an integrated continuous part with right and left side members 19 and an upper member 20 which are integrated with each other, and a separate lower member 21 which is separated from the integrated continuous part. Pipe parts 18a-18c corresponding to the respective members 19-21 are formed in the back sheet 18, and attaching holes 22 are bored in the lower pipe part 18c. The integrated continuous part and the back sheet 18 are fitted to each other first, and then the lower member 21 is fitted into the lower pipe part 18c.
